What Are the Signs that Repiping is Needed?
If you notice any signs there’s something wrong with your pipes, call us to schedule an evaluation. These may be small, easy problems we can fix quickly. They might be signs of a much bigger problem that only repiping can remedy. Whatever the situation, we will be able to confidently asses your plumbing system and provide a plan of action.
You may notice these signs in your home or business that could indicate you need repiping:
- Low water pressure
- Reduced water flow
- Corroded pipes
- Cracked valves
- Rust-colored water
How Does Repiping Work?
Repiping is not a temporary fix. It’s a permanent solution for the entire plumbing system in your home or business. We turn off the water supply, remove old pipes, and replace them with new piping. After the new system is installed, we turn the water on and perform tests on the new system. Once the system passes our tests, it’s good to go.
Normally the repiping process takes a few days. We will also need to patch walls and refinish them, which could take a little longer depending on your unique situation. We use both metal and plastic pipes in our repiping process. Copper is the industry standard because it is long-lasting and durable. We will offer you different choices based on your budget and preferences. PEX piping is a new choice that is flexible, resistant to corrosion, and up to 75 % less expensive than copper piping.
The best time for repiping is before you remodel and repaint or refinish your walls. We will need to cut into some of your walls for access, and you don’t want to have to finish walls twice. Let us do the repiping first so your remodel goes more smoothly.
